Graduation

Yesterday, my dad and I graduated from IMG_3088IMG_3092
Fuller Theological Seminary! My dad earned a Master of Arts in Theology and I earned a Master of Divinity. It was a wonderful day! We had all sorts of family come in from out of town and it truly was a special celebration. Even though my dad I weren't able to sit next to each other during commencement (they organized people according to their respective degrees), it was fun for me to stand up from the crowd and yell, "Yeah Dad!!" when they called his name. Dr. Richard Mouw, the president of Fuller Seminary, mentioned that this year was the largest graduating class ever at Fuller, and also in the history of any theological institution in the world. You can take that statement as, "They're just giving those things out like candy bars," or you can take it as, "This is evidence that God is alive and preparing workers for the fields that are so ripe in harvest." I'll let you choose. What was really special was being able to celebrate this accomplish with my wonderful wife and two daughters who sacrificed so much over the last few years to help push me through to completion. I look forward to looking back on those pictures and remembering these wonderful days.It was also our sixth wedding anniversary...happy anniversary, Babe...we're done at Fuller! Following the ceremony my parents threw a quaint gathering which was very special and touching. My mom did an incredible job putting the gathering together. A guest book was signed and many words of affirmation and encouragement were exchanged. What a special day it was!!
